Vendée Globe passage time at Cape of Good Hope
This year the Vendée Globe is keeping us glued to the screen, as always to be fair!
Most of the fleet has passed “Cape of Good Hope”, and the Imoca 60 are sailing towards the Southern Indian Ocean.
Many speed record has been broken already and can not imagine how many more our athletes will be able to break!
At the moment at the lead of the ranking there is Charlie Dalin (Macif Sante Prevoyance), who has being able to maintain the lead pretty constantly, followed by Sebastien Simon (Groupe Dubreuil) at just 45 nm of distance, Yoann Richomme (Paprek Arkea) as third and just battling for the podium position Thomas Ruyant (Vulnerable).
Thanks to our athletes’ social media we are able to follow them constantly and b e able to grasp on how they are living onboard during this astonishing race, and we love to spy here and there the countless Ropeye mounted onboard.
Before leaving deck, we were chatting with one of our great sailor, Conrad Colman, who shared with us how must he trusts Ropeye, by literally hanging his life to it! He used our Ropeye Loop to attach the life line, which are the shackles where he attached himself when he has to go to the bow to change sails.
Ropeye loop is a through deck dyneema loop that allows you to attach anything to it, so reliable that you can trust it even with your own life!
